Del Potro's Big Day

Juan Martin del potro, the no. 5 seed, is this year's US Open Grand Slam winner after beating the world's no. 1 player Roger Federer. He managed to beat Rafael Nadal, the no. 3 seed, which ruined everyone's hope for Nadal vs Federer match in the final.

I heard before in one of Del Potro's game, a commentator once said that del Potro was not yet ready to win the title though he was playing well. But with his win today, he just proved to everyone that he can beat the world's no. 1 and he's ready for the spotlight at the age of 20.

I am a Federer fan, I believe that he did his best, I guess there's nothing wrong in sharing the spotlight with the others. He has won a lot of tournaments, it's okay to let others win.

Ohh... zoo-me....

 

We've been to Singapore Zoo yesterday. Haven't been to zoo for quite some time. The last time I've been to zoo was when I was 2nd year college with my college friends and that was in Manila Zoo.

I enjoyed the experience yesterday. I was able to see some animals that I haven't seen. I was also able to use my brother's slr camera which made things fun because I was able to practice my skills in photography again. But I don't know how will I post it. Anyway, I'll post here some pictures taken from my digital camera.

Let's eat burger...

This is the ad which most Singaporeans thought that Burger King is promoting oral sex. I read in the newspaper that they want Burger King to be punished for this irresponsible ad, some saying that the ad is very embarrasing. Burger King though, has removed this ad in their stores.

I actually don't see anything wrong with the ad. When I saw this ad, I was lured to order and buy this instead of the bacon mushroom melt that I'm supposed to be buying. The idea of promoting oral sex didn't come to my mind. I ordered this because it's bigger compared to bacon mushroom melt.

Yes, this ad could be promoting oral sex but it depends on the person who will be interpreting this ad. It is not right to punish Burger King, they just want to promote their 7-incher burger.

It is obvious in the ad that they are promoting the burger and not anything else. Let's just enjoy eating burger and avoid thinking of anything else.

Photography...

Photography kills boredom. Thanks to my brother's canon EOS 400D. I am able to at least practice my photography skills, if I do have. I don't want him to see me using his SLR camera so I only use it when his not home. Having a hard time using the camera though, but sooner or later, I'll become familiar with it.

Anyway,
small f no. (aperture) - large aperture - more light
large f no. (aperture) - small aperture - less light

Using large aperture will blur your background and only the subject nearest to the focal point stays in sharp focus.

Fast Shutter Speed (1/1000 secs) - less light - freezes action
Slow Shutter Speed (1/60 secs) - more light - makes moving object blurred thus conveying a sense of motion.

Just read this from the newspaper yesterday.

By the way, photos above were taken using a digital camera, not an SLR. hehehe.

Batam

Batam Experience

Been to Batam, Indonesia twice... I went there last June 20 and 21 with my brother and his family. Wasn't able to see much of Batam. We just stayed in the hotel.


Holiday Inn, Batam

Went back yesterday for 1 day tour. Not that much happy with the experience. We just visited an old chinese temple, watched cultural presentation with 2 indonesians dancing, eating fire and glass then the tour guide left us in the mall for shopping for 2 hours which was boring so I just stayed in the coffee shop.

A big hand to Roger Federer for winning this year's Wimbledon. He is indeed one of the best tennis players in the world.

Congrats to Serena Williams as well for beating her sister Venus in their Finals match.

Singapore Adventure...

I'm already in Singapore for almost a month na rin... Been staying with my brother and his wife and two kids...

I've been to some places na rin dito sa Singapore. So far, so good... though nitong mga nakaraang weeks eh lagi lang ako nasa bahay. Can't go out... Nakakatamad rin...

Extended rin ang pag stay ko. Supposedly, I should be back in Manila tomorrow but since we went to Indonesia last week, naextend ulit ang pag stay ko.
